(MultiVPS) What are the ways of remotely accessing my VPS?
There are several ways you can access your VPS:
- From the GUI, with VNC. For our MultiVPS customers, SolusVM 2.0 supports VNC access right from the SolusVM 2.0 Control Panel, which you can access either at My Services » MultiVPS Portal, or directly at portal.cfld.uk - you simply need to have at least a HTML5-supported browser (which nearly all of them currently support, possibly with the exception of... Internet Explorer).
This solution works even if your ISP supports only IPv4, due to the management server relay supporting dual stack (IPv4+IPv6), which allows for management on your browser accessing from IPv4.
- From the Web as a hybrid CLI/GUI solution, via Cockpit. It's as simple as logging in from the previous or the next solution and inserting "sudo apt install cockpit" (Debian/Ubuntu-based) or "dnf install cockpit" (RHEL-based). As of May 2nd, 2024, this solution is currently not available for BSD-based distros or Windows, and as of May 7th, 2024, there are known difficulties with Ubuntu 24.04 (login may fail due to TLS handshake timeout).
- From the command-line, with SSH, via PuTTY. Simply download it to your computer, and access the server, inserting the current IP that was given to you and port 22. You'll be then requested to login as root and can proceed accordingly. For MultiVPS offerings, your Internet Service Provider must support native IPv6. If it doesn't, you can use C-Servers Remote (4-to-6 and 6-to-4 solution).
