Where is IPv6 on your servers? And IPv4?
C-Servers strives to be an IPv6-only company. While that is not possible for now, due to the implementation of IPv6 being incomplete worldwide, we do strive to give you the best possible solutions for IPv6 adoption - and we want to give you the very same experience.
This is the current IPv4 and IPv6 support status as of August 16th, 2024:
HostOne Web Hosting
Servers have always a native IPv4 available, with reverse DNS. IPv6 implementation is always possible via free CDNs like CloudFlare (information is still being obtained on the availability of a native IPv6 on the web hosting server).
MultiVPS (Nano, Central and Extra)
Solution with SolusVM 2.0
- Servers are primarily IPv6. IPv4 is only provided via NAT64/DNS64 translation, currently with dynamic IPv4s under the protocols supported for this technology. A fixed IPv4 for a NAT64/DNS64 implementation with a reverse-proxy solution is currently being evaluated.
- IPv6 main addresses are provided with, at least, a /64 address (1 usable IP). On some services a /63 (2 usable IPs) or a /62 (4 usable IPs) is provided as well. It is possible to add extra IPv6 addresses (/62 to /58) - a process payable automatically at the "Extra Services" menu, and handled manually in 12-36h (Level 2 Request).
- NAT64/DNS64 is implemented on all IPv6-only VPS without additional cost. This technology allows your VPS to access any IPv4-only or IPv4-preferred websites as usual, just like you access those today. This means your virtual server capabilities in this regard are the same as any server with native IPv4.
- VNC access is always supported via IPv4 and IPv6.
- SSH access is currently supported IPv6-to-IPv6 and via C-Servers Remote, a SSH relay solution (SSH bastion) layered over dual-stack (IPv4+IPv6) that has been developed. Check your e-mail for details on how to implement the access.
- Reverse DNS is supported, via ticket request, mentioning the desired domain address. This is treated as a Level 2 request (24-48h, Mon-Sat).
MultiNAT (NanoNAT and CentralNAT)
Solution with Virtualizor
- Servers are primarily IPv4.
- Extra IPv4 addresses are not possible. Dedicated /64 IPv6 addresses are also not possible, given this is a stop-gap IPv4 NAT solution.
- For IPv6 access within a VPS, a customer can use a tunnel that routes IPv6 - solutions like CloudFlare, Tailscale and others are available. Another solution is to subscribe to our MultiVPS solutions, which support IPv6 natively.
- VNC access via Client Area or the dedicated NAT Portal on a per-server basis.
- SSH access available direct IPv4-to-IPv4, C-Servers Remote still available for reverse 6-to-4 access via login over IPv6 (credentials via ticket).
- Reverse DNS is not supported due to the nature of this service. Designating a specific hostname for website and forwarding from there, is.
- Up to 150 ports can be opened per customer, automatically, at the "Domain Forwarding" option on the server's portal or, if applicable and available, when managing the server at the Client Area of the C-Servers WebStore.
Dedicated Servers (Nano, Central, Extra)
- Offered as well in both variants. Please verify your particular offer and your current availability. If you wish, you can send us a ticket.
Thank you for your feedback.
Sorry about that :( We'll work to make it better.
